My story
If you’ve known me for a while, you’ll know I’m not a runner. I won’t run for a bus. I won’t even run for a coffee… I’ve never once seen someone running and thought “you know what? That looks fun, maybe I’ll give that a go…” And yet, in a moment of what can only be described as temporary insanity, I signed up to run 13.1 miles around London next spring.
I’m planning to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise funds for Tommy’s. They exists to fund work to help make pregnancy and birth safe - for everyone. Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. They believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy and birth. They want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies.
I know too many families who have experienced the pain of not taking their baby home in their arms, and I’ve also personally experienced the support Tommy’s can offer in 2023, following the loss of Luca, who I carried as a surrogate. Their information and resources helped me through some incredibly difficult moments, and I want to support an organisation that has been there for so many people when they’ve needed it most.
I would be so grateful if you’d consider sponsoring me as I attempt something that is wildly outside my skill set, and help Tommy’s continue their vital work. Every donation, however big or small, will make a difference. ❤️
