My story
My journey to becoming a Mum wasn’t easy. It’s the one thing I desperately wanted yet it wasn’t happening. I had been unsuccessful in falling pregnant for years, so I went down the insemination route, and when that was unsuccessful, I turned to IVF.
During the first round of IVF I was met with disappointment, a Christmas miscarriage and then further disappointment. My second round of IVF was when things looked up, I was finally pregnant, and with twins. I was being monitored weekly for the first 10 weeks, and as I had 2 strong heartbeats, it was reduced to monthly. Next appointment, my heart broke, 1 twin had died.
I am running the LLHM to help raise vital funds for Tommy’s as the heartbreak of losing that life is so devastating and having gone through it twice will forever be a part of me. I’m running for my daughter’s twin who should be by her side and for my Christmas angel.
I'm proud to be joining Team Tommy's in the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2027 to support Tommy's and continue their vital work to help make pregnancy and birth safe - for everyone. Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. They believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy and birth. They want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies. Please support me to take on the 13.1 miles of the London Landmarks Half Marathon.
