My story
Tuesday 9th December 2025 something happened. Something which was to become an enormous moment in my life. Something that was going to cling onto me in a way I couldn’t even begin to fathom. At 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant I started bleeding. In that instant my life turned upside down.
One in four pregnancies result in a miscarriage. That’s a quarter, 25%, a huge amount. It’s also suspected to be a much larger amount as this number doesn’t include early miscarriages where the pregnancy is unknown. Often these losses are interpreted as heavy periods, rather than miscarriages.
So I’m on a mission. Not to cure my grief, or find a way forward, or look for the positives… I’m on a mission to share the heartache of my story and to encourage others to do the same. You are not alone. I am not alone.
With that in mind, I am beyond proud to (hopefully) be joining Team Tommy's in the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2027 to support Tommy's and continue their vital work to help make pregnancy and birth safe - for everyone.
Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. They believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy and birth. They want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies.
