The Tommy's Wave

For the first time ever, all our amazing Team Tommy's runners will start in the same wave and create a spectacular sea of pink at the LLHM start line. We can’t wait to see thousands of Tommy’s runners come together at the start line in their own dedicated wave. This special moment will bring together our amazing community who have played a pivotal role in supporting Tommy’s work to help end the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss.

I can't make the Tommy's wave, can I join a different wave?

If you can't make this wave, although you will not be able to move forward a wave, you will be able to drop back and join waves 5-8 which set off at:

Wave 5 - 10:10 | Wave 6 – 10:20 | Wave 7 – 10:30 | Wave 8 – 10:40

I'm concerned about keeping up with the pace of this wave, can I move back?

Please let us reassure you that you will be able to run completely at your own pace on race day.

However, if you would like to you can start in a later wave. There’s no need to let LLHM organisers know that you are moving back a wave.

If you do move back a wave, please ensure you are using the bag drop allocated to your original wave. Please just follow the steps below:

1. Go to your allocated bag drop if you need to drop off your bag.

2. Go to the later wave start.

3. After the race collect your bag from your allocated bag pick-up.

It's really important that runners use the bag drop they are allocated as LLHM have carefully calculated the space needed to safely store everyone's bags.

I'm running with a friend who is not in the Tommy's Wave, can they join me?

In line with LLHM policy, runners cannot move forward a wave. However, if your friend is in an earlier wave they will be able to drop back to join you in wave 4 – the Tommy’s wave. Or, if your friend is in a later wave, you can drop back to join them in their wave.

There’s no need to let the London Landmarks Half Marathon organisers or us know if anyone is dropping back waves.

If either you or your friend does move waves, please ensure you use the bag drop for your original allocated wave.

Please see the steps below:

1. Go to your allocated bag drop if you need to drop off your bag.

2. Go to the later wave start.

3. After the race collect your bag from your allocated bag pick-up.

It's really important that runners use the bag drop they are allocated as we have carefully calculated the space needed to safely store everyone's bags.
